Job summary

Schumacher Homes of Virginia Inc is looking for a Construction Manager to guide residential projects from pre-construction through completion. You will work closely with customers, coordinate trades, and ensure time, cost, and quality standards are met to achieve homeowner satisfaction.

The role emphasizes a shorter 36-hour work week and offers comprehensive benefits. You’ll operate within Schumacher Homes, a premier on-your-lot builder, delivering high-quality homes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing residential construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
• Experience using mobile devices and Outlook for communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with customers to build their dream home and manage trades.
• Ensure homes are built with quality, on time and within budget.
• Lead pre-construction meetings with the team and homeowners.

Construction Manager:

• Must be proficient in understanding residential construction systems.
• Is responsible for working with the customer to build their dream home, schedule trades and ensure the home is built with attention to quality, meeting building time expectations and exceeding homeowner satisfaction!
• Builds assigned homes within time, cost, quality and satisfaction standards.
• Participates in pre-construction meeting with General Manager, Customer Coordinators and homeowners.

Requirements

• Prior scattered-site residential construction experience (preferred).
• Technical construction knowledge to understand construction processes and terminology to assist in management of field personnel and systems.
• Computer experience - the ability to use technology (Smart Phone, I-Pad). Experience with Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
