Job summary

A leading energy company in Michigan is looking for a Construction Manager to oversee safety, quality, and cost during construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage onsite activities, ensure compliance with OSHA and MiOSHA standards, and coordinate with various teams. Strong experience with SAP and excellent planning skills are essential. This contract position offers a competitive pay range of $40.00/hr to $45.00/hr.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage safety, scope, cost, and schedule during construction.
  • Ensure construction adheres to applicable codes and specifications.
  • Oversee onsite construction and report progress daily to the manager.
  • Supervise contract inspectors and resolve construction issues.
  • Ensure as-built redline drawings are submitted to Engineering.

Skills

SESC – Storm Water Management Certification
Knowledge of substation field and equipment operations
OSHA and MiOSHA compliance experience
Experience with SAP
Experience with Microsoft Office
Planning and priority-setting skills

Job description

Base pay range

$40.00/hr - $45.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage safety, scope, cost, and schedule during construction.
  • Ensure construction adheres to applicable codes and specifications, company or industry standards.
  • Oversee onsite construction – monitoring safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
  • Report progress daily to the Manager of Electric Construction.
  • Supervise contract inspectors and resolve issues including material, construction, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Ensure as-built redline drawings are submitted to Engineering.
  • Accompany high-value asset transportation to and from company locations.
  • Perform soil erosion and sedimentation control inspections per Stormwater Management Certification protocol.
Skills and Qualifications
  • SESC – Storm Water Management Certification.
  • Knowledge of substation field and equipment operations.
  • OSHA and MiOSHA compliance experience.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Planning and priority-setting skills.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must stand and walk in all weather conditions (snow, mud, dirt, water, ice).
  • Frequent lifting up to ten pounds; occasional lifting up to fifty pounds.
  • Work environment noise level usually moderate, often loud on construction sites.
