The Shelly Company, a CRH Company, invites a Construction Management Intern to experience multiple facets of construction management within a vertically integrated organization in Ohio. You will engage with project management, asphalt plant operations, crews, and business management tasks to understand costs, scheduling, and profitability.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management or Operations Management, or have 2–4 years of related experience;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management or Operations Management, or 2–4 years related experience.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, write routine reports, and communicate effectively.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift 25+ pounds and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Learn project management for public and private jobs and how to find, bid, and build heavy construction projects.
• Assist asphalt plant operations and learn scales, maintenance and equipment handling.
• Join construction crews and learn job setup, foreman coordination, and equipment usage.
• Engage in business management basics, including job cost, workload review, and P&L awareness.
• Gain exposure to aggregate manufacturing, materials, and logistics for customer relationships.
