Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is offering a Quality Control Intern position at our Ohio operations. You will gain hands-on experience in asphalt, aggregates, and ready-mix processes, learning HMA production, QC methods, and density control.

You will assist QC technicians, record test results, and communicate findings to paving crews while upholding safety and ethics policies. Enrollment in a Mining/Construction related program is required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university working towards an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Construction Management, or other industry related degree program.
• Ability to read English language sufficiently to read information contained in specifications, reports, manuals and regulations.
• Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and shop math.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Responsibilities

• Learn HMA production processes and QC methods.
• Record and report test results.
• Assist QC technicians with calibrations and quality checks.
• Communicate mix specifications and test results with paving personnel.
• Maintain safety and ethics compliance in all tasks.

Education

Enrolled in accredited college pursuing Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
