Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking a motivated Construction Management Intern/Co-op to support our construction team in the successful execution of projects. This internship offers hands-on experience across pre-construction planning, project coordination, and fieldwork in the commercial HVAC/mechanical systems industry.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and has strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Basic understanding of construction processes and mechanical/HVAC systems (coursework or prior experience is a plus).
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with various project stakeholders.
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Pre-Construction Support: Review project drawings for scope, constructability, and cost-saving opportunities; assist with subcontractor selection and bid processes; help track contract requirements and M&V specifications.
Construction Phase: Assist with project scheduling and subcontractor coordination; gather and organize safety documentation; assist with procurement of equipment and materials; attend meetings and document notes.
Post-Construction Activities: Help develop closeout materials, including O&M manuals and as-built documentation; support warranty registrations and factory start-ups; assist with owner training and punch list completion.
