Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, seeks a Construction Management Intern for the 2027 Summer Internship in New York City. You will work with construction managers and project teams on pre-construction planning, scheduling, and fieldwork in the commercial HVAC and mechanical systems sector.

The role offers in-office work with a Friday work-from-home option, exposure to safety programs, and hands-on experience across project documentation, procurement, and close-out processes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of construction processes and HVAC systems from coursework or experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing project drawings for scope, constructability, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support subcontractor selection and bidding processes, including RFPs and site walk-throughs.
• Help track contract requirements and Measurement and Verification specifications.
