Job summary

BW Industrial Construction is seeking a highly organized Legal Assistant to support legal operations across industrial construction projects. You will manage mechanics lien filings, help with case documentation, coordinate with outside attorneys, and ensure all records are audit-ready.

The role requires knowledge of construction law and subcontractor compliance, with a full-time, in-office schedule at the Houston facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years of legal assistant/paralegal experience with construction law exposure; pay commensurate with experience.
• Knowledge of Texas lien laws and construction law.
• Strong organization, communication, and confidentiality.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file mechanics liens, lien releases, and notices.
• Support legal cases: gather records, organize evidence, coordinate with outside counsel.
• Draft and maintain contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, and change orders.
• Track deadlines for legal filings, insurance, and compliance.
• Review subcontractor documentation (COIs, licenses, W‑9s).
• Assist with dispute documentation, claims, and project closeout.
• Maintain organized digital and physical legal files.
