Job Title: Construction Laborer (Morning Shift)
Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to support a large-scale industrial construction project in Fremont as part of a high-performing rigging and anchoring team. Construction laborers in this position work in highly physical, hands-on environments, assisting with the safe movement, alignment, leveling, and anchoring of heavy industrial machinery, as well as preparing sites and handling a wide range of tools and equipment during extended morning shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with rigging and transport activities by setting up and testing rigging lines, pulleys, hoists, and pulling gear to safely move heavy equipment.
  • Support the precise alignment, leveling, and anchoring of heavy industrial machinery according to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Attach loads to rigging equipment and signal or direct operators to ensure safe lifting, movement, and placement of materials and machinery.
  • Clean and prepare work sites, including removing debris, laying bracing, erecting scaffolding, and building support forms as needed.
  • Operate and handle a variety of hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, laser levels, and skid steers, to complete construction and rigging tasks.
  • Contribute to general construction and concrete-related labor, including material handling, site organization, and basic mechanical tasks.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a strong focus on hazard awareness and safe work practices at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with a large team, communicating clearly and supporting coworkers to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts, including weekend work, and be prepared for physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial construction, concrete, or general labor.
  • Proficiency using power tools and hand tools in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to understand and support rigging, anchoring, and equipment-related tasks.
  • Ability to frequently lift and maneuver heavy materials, typically up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in an active environment with frequent standing, walking, stooping, climbing, and balancing.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in confined or high-noise spaces.
  • Strong work ethic with consistent punctuality and reliability for long shifts.
  • High focus on safety protocols, including adherence to all site rules and procedures.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED is generally preferred.
  • Experience with general construction labor, including concrete work and material handling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with rigging and anchoring heavy industrial machinery is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to millwright work or industrial equipment installation is beneficial.
  • Experience operating forklifts or similar material‑handling equipment is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with crating and preparing equipment or materials for transport is helpful.
  • Comfort working with jackhammers, laser levels, skid steers, and other construction tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work extended 12-hour shifts from morning to evening on a schedule that may include Monday through Sunday.
  • Ownership of required personal protective equipment such as steel‑toed boots and a hard hat.

Work Environment

You will work with a large, coordinated team on an active industrial construction site, supporting major projects in a fast‑paced environment. The role involves 12‑hour shifts, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and may include work any day of the week, Monday through Sunday. The work is highly physical, requiring frequent lifting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing, and balancing. You will work outdoors in varying weather conditions and may spend time in confined or high‑noise spaces. The environment relies heavily on the use of hand and power tools, rigging equipment, and machinery such as jackhammers, laser levels, skid steers, and forklifts. Appropriate safety gear, including steel‑toed boots and a hard hat, is required at all times to meet site safety standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Fremont, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
