Job summary

Mortenson in Nashville is seeking a Laborer I to prepare, handle, and supply materials for other crafts on our construction sites. Responsibilities include loading and unloading equipment, erecting scaffolding, moving and mixing mortar and concrete, ensuring clean work areas, and assisting with general site duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
• Level ground for scaffolding.
• Tend mortar and grout.
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• Build relationships with colleagues at all levels.
• All other duties as assigned.
