Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer responsible for preparation, handling, and supplying materials for other trades on a construction site. You will load/unload equipment, erect scaffolding, level ground, and assist with concrete tasks while maintaining safety and teamwork across diverse crews.

The role emphasizes physical readiness, ability to use hand and power tools, and collaboration with team members to meet project needs. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a two (2) year apprenticeship.
• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
• Level ground for scaffolding.
• Tend mortar and grout.
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• All other duties as assigned.
