Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. is seeking labor/blasting assistants to support construction and blasting operations on site. You will follow safety procedures, learn blasting safety, and perform laboring tasks under supervision until you can work independently.

Starting pay is $18-$20 per hour, with travel stipends. Benefits include two retirement plans (ESOP and employer-contributed 401(k)) and health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverages, plus training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must adhere to Company Safety procedures and policies.
• Physical agility is required.
• Ability to quickly learn safety aspects of working construction sites and around explosives.
• Ability to take direction and perform construction laboring activities.
• Ability to work unsupervised occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Attend all meetings and participate in safety and job meetings.
• Pump blast holes dry with water pump, load/unload explosives, carry stemming stone.
• Maintain clean and organized job site; perform laboring tasks as assigned.
• Follow safety procedures and reports to Foreman weekly.
