Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking a Laborer-Construction to support field crews, perform labor tasks, and follow safety procedures on diverse job sites. Travel and overtime may be required, with emphasis on learning and upskilling within the blasting and construction environment.

The role offers a starting wage of $21.00 per hour plus a $150 weekly travel allowance, plus comprehensive benefits (Health Plan, Life Insurance, 401(k), ESOP, PTO) and paid training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Drivers License with good driving record and own transportation
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen.
• Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF
• Experience with construction laborer helpful, but not necessary
• Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Company Safety procedures and policies
• Submit records to Blaster/Foreman on a Weekly basis: Accurate and Signed Time Card
• Learn safety aspects of working construction sites and around explosives
• Take direction and perform construction laboring activities
• Work unsupervised occasionally
• Pump blast holes dry with water pump
• Load and unload explosives from truck
• Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes
• Maintain clean and organize job site
• Participate in monthly Foreman, safety and job meetings
• Participate in daily heads up safety meetings
• Other duties as assigned
