Job summary

Aldridge is seeking an experienced Labor Relations Manager to oversee union relations, CBAs/PLAs, and employee relations across projects. The role focuses on resolving grievances, ensuring labor-law compliance, and advising field teams on disciplinary actions and safety standards.

The successful candidate will manage complex jurisdictional issues, investigate harassment and discrimination claims, and proactively prevent work stoppages.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of labor relations experience in a unionized construction or heavy industrial environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong knowledge of building trades unions, union jurisdictional issues, and CBA/PLA administration.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead liaison with local, regional, and trades unions and negotiate CBAs/PLAs.
  • Manage, investigate, and resolve grievances filed by union locals or employees to avoid arbitration.
  • Interpret labor contracts and guide management to ensure compliance with union provisions, prevailing wage laws, and apprenticeship standards.
  • Handle complex jurisdictional disputes and craft assignments for productivity and correct work.
  • Advise field supervisors on labor relations issues, including disciplinary actions and workplace conduct.
  • Identify potential labor disruptions and develop site-specific plans to maintain project continuity.
  • Train project managers and field leadership on union contract obligations and labor law compliance.
  • Lead investigations for harassment, discrimination, bullying, and retaliation with impartial procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies on high-risk sites.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ anti-harassment obligations and review investigation procedures.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend remedial actions to management.
