Requirements include enrollment in an accredited degree program (engineering, architecture, or construction management), 18+ years old, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college or university degree program or Co-op; minimum 1 year completed.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on a construction site.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the industry.
• Commitment to standard business hours and overtime as determined by assignment.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Proactive, curious, eager to learn and participate.
• Able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn about construction management.
• Relate academic knowledge to work activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation.
• Comply with safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with project start-up activities and support to Project Engineer/Superintendent/Manager.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Assist with preparation of estimates for changes in work.
• Attend project site visits.
• Assist with correspondence to Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Assist with communication to Trades and subcontractors to manage schedules.
• Assist with monitoring contractor safety compliance.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and studies.
• Request and distribute subcontractor proposals.
• Assist with project close out preparations.
