Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Inspector II for our Virginia footprint, including Northern Virginia, Richmond, and nearby markets. The role focuses on inspecting bridges, roadways, and environmental components, ensuring compliance with codes, plans, and specifications, with duties spanning field testing and pay estimates.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and at least three years of related experience, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of field or related experience.
Knowledge of construction inspection, materials testing, and related field practices.
Must be able to pass a fingerprint/background check.

Responsibilities

Inspects and monitors construction sites for compliance with standards and plans.
Prepares daily inspection reports and documents field information.
Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
Coordinates and performs field testing of materials as needed.
Calculates quantities for pay estimates.
Performs earthwork, grading, and staking calculations.
Communicates with contractor, owner, and stakeholders as directed.
