Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Inspector II to perform on-site inspections of bridges, roadways, and environmental components across VA markets including Northern Virginia, Richmond, Lynchburg, Christiansburg, and Hampton Roads.

You will verify compliance with codes, prepare daily reports, perform field testing of materials, and assist with pay quantity calculations while communicating with contractors and stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in construction inspection, materials testing or related field.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• PC/tablet familiarity and reliable attendance are essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and monitors construction sites to verify adherence to standards and specs.
• Prepares daily reports documenting inspections and project information.
• Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
• Coordinate and perform field testing of materials as required.
• Implements quantity calculations for pay estimates.
• Performs analytical calculations such as earthwork and grading.
• Communicates with contractor, owner, and stakeholders as directed.
