Job summary

Kleinfelder seeks a Construction Inspector I to perform general inspection tasks on bridges, roadways, and environmental projects across Northern Virginia, Richmond, and surrounding VA areas. You will verify compliance with codes and project plans, preparing daily reports and assisting in contract documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in construction inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor construction sites to verify adherence to standards and specifications.
• Prepare and submit daily inspection reports.
• Adhere to project contract documentation and testing of materials.
• Assist in preparing change orders, estimates, and progress pay docs.
• Verify lines and grades of project improvements.
• Coordinate and perform field testing of materials.
• Perform quantity calculations for pay estimates.
• Conduct basic earthwork and grading calculations.
• Communicate with contractor, owner, and stakeholders in writing and verbally.
• Serve as on-site Administrator in absence of the on-site Admin.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in Safety Programs.
