Job summary

Ramos Consulting Services, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks an Electrical/IT Inspector to support LAWA's capital improvements. You will inspect electrical and IT systems on building and terminal projects, prepare daily reports, and verify contractor compliance with NEC, NFPA codes, and LAWA standards.

Responsibilities include tracking field changes, reviewing submittals, RFIs, and change orders, and coordinating with engineers and third‑party agencies.

Qualifications

• Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have 3 years or more experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.
• Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years.
• Proof of Cal‑OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years.
• Training & knowledge of NFPA -70, 70E, & 72.
• Fall protection and harness training.
• Experience at the journey-level as an electrician, with a focus on electrical systems in public works.
• Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes on significant projects.
• Strong collaboration with contractors, engineers, and city officials.
• Willingness to learn prescriptive agency items.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical and IT systems on building and terminal construction projects per codes and specs.
• Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports documenting who, what, where, when, and how.
• Verify contractor compliance with NEC, NFPA 70, 70E, 72 and LAWA standards.
• Track time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities.
• Assist in validating progress payment requests based on the schedule of values.
• Support inspections and testing with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies.
