Qualifications

  • Review plans, blueprints, and contract documents to understand project requirements and identify potential issues.
  • Drive to job sites and monitor activities to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and construction personnel to address concerns and meet timelines.
  • Draft and submit detailed inspection reports with observations, issues, and corrective actions.

Lift Test• Valid and unrestricted driver's licenseABOUT THIS JOBPosition Specific SummaryThe Construction Inspector position at the City of Tucson’s Department of Transportation & Mobility is responsible for coordinating and conducting site inspections to verify compliance with contracts, safety standards, and building codes. This position involves reviewing plans, collaborating with contractors, and ensuring projects meet deadlines and regulations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSchedules and conducts inspections of construction sites to ensure that work is being carried out according to contract specifications, industry standards, and local building codes. Inspects construction materials, equipment, and techniques to ensure they align with approved designs and specifications. Reviews construction blueprints, plans and contract documents to understand project requirements and identify any potential issues before or during the construction process.Drives to job sites and monitors construction activities to ensure that all work meets quality control requirements, safety regulations, and applicable laws. Identifies any discrepancies and ensures that corrective measures are taken.Collaborates with contractors, engineers, and other construction personnel to address any concerns, compliance issues, and ensure project timelines are met.
