Job summary

City of Tucson Police Department seeks a Systems Analyst to design, develop, and program systems operations and manage projects for the computer-based resolution of business problems. Work under the Analysis Superintendent; this role does not supervise staff.

Responsibilities include building APIs to exchange data between systems, managing databases (including NoSQL) for analytics, and creating robust data architectures with documentation to support BI initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with API development and data integration.
  • Experience with Snowflake data lakes and analytics.

This position does not supervise.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops and maintains Application Programming Interface (API)s to facilitate data exchange between systems and applications. Collaborates with software developers and other teams to design and implement APIs that meet business requirements.Manages and maintains databases to ensure data availability, integrity, and security. Performs database tuning and optimization to improve performance.Manages and maintains non-relational databases such as non-Structured Query Language (NoSQL) databases to support flexible and scalable data storage needs. Designs data models and architecture for non-relational databases.Integrates data from various sources to provide a unified view of data for analysis. Develops and maintains data integration workflows and processes.Designs and implements data architecture to support data analytics and business intelligence initiatives. Evaluates and recommends new technologies and tools to enhance data architecture.Monitors the performance of data pipelines, databases, and analytics systems. Identifies and implements optimizations to improve performance and efficiency.Creates and maintains technical documentation for data engineering processes, systems, and workflows.
