Job summary

Walbridge is seeking a Human Resource Specialist for a state-of-the-art construction project near Van Buren Township, MI. You will apply your HR expertise to support our culture, manage HR processes, and advise staff and management.

You will foster positive employee relations, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with on-site supervisors and the corporate HR team to deliver seamless workforce programs on this long-term project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with 3–5 years HR experience.
• Proven expertise in a specific HR specialty area (e.g., recruitment, employee relations, benefits).
• Proficiency in HRIS, databases, MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint), and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with discretion.
• Excellent time management, organization, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 10%.

Responsibilities

• Champion Walbridge culture of inclusion initiative and promote strong working relationships.
• Provide guidance and maintain compliance with EEO, labor classifications, and OFCCP requirements.
• Partner with on-site project supervisors, facilitate the Talent Acquisition process, and support the corporate HR team.
• Provide oversight of new team member programs, health & wellness initiatives, training, labor postings and signage, and substance abuse testing process.
• Lead investigations and resolve team member relations matters promptly and effectively.
