Job summary

Knife River Corporation is seeking a skilled construction professional to join our Missoula, MT project team. The role involves coordinating daily crew activities, interpreting plans and specifications, and operating multiple heavy equipment types.

Emphasis on safety, flexibility in shifts, and collaboration with PMs, estimators, and engineers are essential. Qualified candidates will have 5 years of civil construction experience across residential, commercial, and heavy highway projects; a valid

Qualifications

• 5 years of construction experience across residential, commercial and heavy highway civil projects
• CDL license preferred (driver’s license required)
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push and stand for long periods
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
• Able to work flexible shifts including days, nights, some weekends
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all daily crew activities to maximize productivity and quality
• Understand plans, grades and specifications of a civil site
• Operate loader, blade, excavator, dozer, skid steer and rollers as needed
• Maintain safety and prevent unsafe actions or behaviors
• Coordinate daily with team members, sub-contractors, trucking and suppliers
• Use HCSS Heavy Job to track daily quantities, production reports and daily timecards
• Communicate with project managers/estimators and engineers as needed

Job description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following;

• Coordinate all daily crew activities to maximize productivity and quality
• Ability to understand plans, grade and specifications of a civil construction site
• Experience in operation of loader, blade, excavator, dozer skid steer and rollers
• Perform work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions or behaviors
• Daily coordination with team members, sub-contractors, trucking and suppliers
• Utilization of HCSS Heavy Job to track daily quantities, use of production reports and daily timecards
• Ability to communicate with project managers/estimators and engineers as needed

Minimum Qualifications;

• 5 years of experience in construction with emphasis on residential, commercial and heavy highway civil construction
• Valid driver’s license but a CDL is a preferred
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and be on your feet for long periods of time
• Assure all safety procedures are followed
• Ability to work flexible shifts which include days, nights, some weekends
• Must pass a pre employment drug screening and background check
