Job summary

Hotel Rehabs, a nationwide hotel renovation contractor, seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting (Construction) to own the financial strategy and lead the F&A department. Based in Chicago with nationwide reach, the role partners with the CEO/COO to drive 50% growth and scale reporting and controls.

You'll manage WIP, ASC 606, bonding, and multi-state tax compliance, partnering across teams to fund growth and optimize profitability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years leading finance at a general contractor or construction firm.
• Fluent in ASC 606 revenue recognition, WIP, and job costing.
• Experience managing bonding/surety and banking relationships.
• Construction ERP experience with scalable reporting.
• Willing to relocate to Chicago and lead a growing F&A team.

Responsibilities

• Grow and execute the 50% growth plan with the CEO/COO, including capital, bonding, margins, and staffing.
• Lead, manage, and develop the F&A team to scale with company growth.
• Own construction accounting processes: WIP, %-of-completion revenue, at-risk billings, job costing, and project-level profitability.
• Ensure multi-state tax/compliance across 35+ states.
• Manage cash, bonding, banking relationships, and insurance to protect and grow financial strength.
• Provide planning and reporting with clear financial and operational metrics.
• Lead budgeting/forecasting for 12, 24, and 36 months ahead.
• Oversee AP/AR, retainage, lien waivers, and month-end close.
• Collaborate across the company to unlock growth and improve performance.
