Job summary

Boutique Recruiting is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting for our California construction operations. You will lead the full accounting function, drive WIP and percentage-of-completion processes, and partner with executives to improve profitability and controls.

The role requires a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, capable of building an in-house function and scalable finance infrastructure during growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong construction accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Strong construction job costing and project profitability experience.
• Experience overseeing a complete accounting and finance function.
• Experience with financial system implementations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and improve processes.
• Hands-on leadership style with strategic focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting and finance function including day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Oversee WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion, job costing, and project profitability across varied contracts.
• Transition accounting functions in-house and build scalable processes and controls.
• Develop stronger accounting processes, reporting standards, and workflows.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team and determine future structure.
