Job summary

A growing construction organization is seeking an experienced Director of Finance & Accounting to lead and strengthen its accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable leading a team and rolling up their sleeves.

The ideal candidate will help improve processes, develop the accounting team, strengthen financial reporting, and provide meaningful financial insight to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• 3+ years of accounting leadership or management experience.
• CPA preferred, but not required.
• Construction accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and finance operations.
• Manage and develop the accounting team.
• Oversee month-end close, reporting, cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Remain hands-on with GL, reconciliations, payroll, AR/AP, and billing as needed.
• Oversee construction accounting including job costing, WIP, percentage-of-completion, retainage, and project profitability.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, systems, and reporting.
• Partner with operations and leadership on financial analysis and business decisions.
