Job summary

The Finance Analyst internship at Mass Electric Construction is an entry level role focused on supporting a project in accounting and finance related functions. Each project is run like a small business, with emphasis on cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close activities.

You will contribute to preparing financial reports for project management and gain hands-on experience across labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts within a large industrial contractor

Qualifications

• 0-2 years' financial/data analysis experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent degree.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Previous internship experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key excel functions is preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
• Ability to relocate anywhere in the country.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost control, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable processes.
• Support month-end close activities and prepare financial reporting packages for project management.
• Participate in project cost accounting related to labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.
• Learn and apply Corporate Compliance and EEO/labor laws at the project level.
• Collaborate with Operations and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
