Job summary

NYCHA is seeking a Supervisor of Mechanical Installations & Maintenance to oversee Construction Field Inspectors and manage capital projects across multiple sites in New York City. The role focuses on construction administration, contract compliance, and timely responses to contractor-related matters, with duty stations at NYCHA sites.

Applicants should have at least four years of relevant mechanical installation/maintenance experience, strong supervisory skills, and knowledge of building codes.

Qualifications

• Must have four years of full-time satisfactory experience in installation, repair or inspection of mechanical equipment (HVAC, elevators, plumbing) in large buildings.
• Experience supervising field staff and coordinating with project management.
• Familiarity with building codes and governmental regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction field inspectors and monitor overtime; train and mentor staff.
• Review daily reports and escalate to project management.
• Prepare weekly status reports and participate in progress meetings.
• Review contract issues; assist with RFI, submittals and schedules.
• Ensure contractor payment requisitions are reviewed and approved.
• Maintain accurate project records and update management systems.
