Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Associate Estimator to prepare estimates for diverse projects and support the estimating team. The role involves reading plans, compiling quantities, and coordinating with subs and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management background, experience with estimating software, and strong communication skills to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent experience.
• Experience with estimating software such as Destini Estimator or Similar is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist other estimators and managers with estimating tasks.
• Read and interpret contract documents (plans, specs, addenda).
• Perform quantity take-offs and price information organization.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers and clarify pricing with subs.
