Layton Construction is seeking an Estimator to prepare estimates for commercial and industrial projects, collaborating with the project team to ensure cost accuracy and assist other estimators and managers. The role involves reading contract docs, performing quantity take-offs, and pricing information for both hard-bid and design-build opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 2 years estimating commercial/industrial construction projects.
• Experience with hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating preferred.
• Relocation or local availability to Utah is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates for potential projects using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.
• Reads and interprets contract documents (plans, specs, addenda).
• Performs quantity take-offs, prices information, and organizes estimate data.
• Solicits bids/quotes from subs and suppliers and clarifies pricing.
• Prepares estimate formats for general conditions, bid analyses, and takeoffs.
• Assists with bid proposals and prepares outlines for proposed projects.
• Supports staff on special estimating projects as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management related field, or equivalent education and experience
