Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, seeks an experienced estimator to manage costing, bidding, and project execution for civil construction projects across the region. You will work with field teams and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires strong skills in quantity takeoffs, risk analysis, and subcontractor management, plus proficiency with major estimating tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of construction estimating and/or project management experience preferred.
• Experience in earthwork, utilities, heavy civil, site development, asphalt paving, and related projects preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Prepare estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead costs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop competitive bid proposals and participate in bid reviews.
• Analyze project risks, productivity rates, and scheduling requirements.
• Maintain current pricing databases and market intelligence.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and support field operations.
• Collaborate with Superintendents, Foremen, and Operations personnel to achieve project goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, public agencies, and customers.
• Resolve project issues to maintain client satisfaction.
