Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator for a permanent, on-site role in Decatur, AL. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for diverse construction projects and collaborate with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure accurate budgeting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field and at least 5 years of Estimator experience across healthcare, education, commercial, and government sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator with hospital, higher education, school, commercial, federal/state/government, industrial, and hospitality construction experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and cost estimation software.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Professional certification from ASPE or similar is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and government sectors.
• Evaluate blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other docs to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and site personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Conduct site visits and gather data to accurately estimate costs.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in construction cost estimation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects in planning.
• Prepare and present cost reports and analyses to management and clients.
• Analyze completed projects to compare estimates to actual costs and explain variances.
• Provide recommendations to improve estimating procedures.
