Job summary

Granite Construction in Sparks, NV seeks a professional to provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. You’ll assist with controls for budget, schedule, and job costing, interpret drawings for craftsmen, and coordinate with on-site teams to keep the project on track.

You will also develop data for estimates, prepare technical drawings for change orders, and help minimize costs through sound material controls and scheduling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• 2+ years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AGTEK Take-off software.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, specifications, and materials.
• Ability to perform trig calculations and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, and material calculations.
• Provide technical support on project material controls to minimize costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Develop essential data including quantity take-offs, material prices, and labor costs for bids.
