Job summary

CDM Smith in Wisconsin is seeking a construction Estimator to perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks, researching costs, preparing OPCCs, and supporting project teams across the construction lifecycle. Qualifications

• Experience with cost estimation and OPCC preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with field teams.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs, creating material price lists, and researching costs.
• Uses Timberline to prepare or assist in preparation of Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) and design build projects.
• Researches historical data and compiles reports to develop guidelines for future estimates.
• Receives, reviews and files pricings from project managers or procurement against OPCCs.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participates in pre-bid job walks and Bid-Day quote tabulations.
• Supervises and directs overall project activities as assigned.
• Provides technical, field and site administration support to field and project personnel.
• Prepares and reviews submittals of moderate to high complexity.
• Issues construction documents and layouts to field crews and answers questions.
• Prepares and interprets specifications and drawings for foreman and superintendents.
• Maintains and edits field as-built drawings for project.
• Completes RFIs and assists PM with change management.
• Coordinates timely arrival of parts, equipment, and materials with field personnel and vendors.
• Develops or assists in development of purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and applications for payment.
• Develops simple to complex scopes of work.
• Performs surveying functions and verifies final locations and elevations.
• Prepares documentation records such as PXPs, addenda, status reports and meeting minutes.
