Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a capable estimator to provide technical engineering and cost information ensuring construction work complies with engineering standards. You will assist with controls to meet budget and schedule, interpret drawings for crews and coordinate with on-site teams to resolve issues and support the project timeline.

The role involves preparing reports, material calculations, change orders, and bids, while researching historical data to improve estimating

Qualifications

• 2+ years' construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation issues to ensure compliance with codes, drawings and specs.
• Prepare documentation such as status reports, punch lists, and material quantity calculations for supervisors.
