Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a capable estimator to support complex construction projects in the Sioux Falls area. You will perform quantity take-offs, prep OPCCs, and research costs while coordinating with project managers and vendors.

This role emphasizes accuracy, effective communication, and timely project controls, including scheduling, change management, and QA/QC support across diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs and cost research.
• Prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) using Timberline.
• Coordinate with project managers and procurement for pricing and subcontracts.
• Develop detailed baselines and schedules, tracking progress and change impact.
• Support QA/QC, safety and field documentation throughout project life cycle.
• Assist in managing RFIs, change orders and vendor coordination.
