Job summary

Niles Industrial Coatings is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our operations team. The Estimator will organize and lead estimating and pre-construction activities for assigned projects, developing relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to prepare accurate project estimates.

You will work closely with leadership to support bidding, award, and execution, review drawings and specifications, solicit qualified vendors, and manage bid documentation and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience with both competitive bid projects and conceptual budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, industry regulations, and project management practices.
• Understanding of financial practices and accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate, manage, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Bid development and preparation of bid forms.
• Review drawings, specs, proposals, and project documentation.
• Establish bid schedules and deadlines.
• Identify and solicit qualified vendors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs.
• Prepare invitations to bid and complete bid forms.
• Review bid breakdowns and proposals with senior leadership.
• Lead Estimator-to-Project Manager handoff meetings.
• Support project managers throughout project execution.
