Job summary

WCI is seeking a Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial and residential projects. You will analyze plans, collaborate with subcontractors, and support bidding and preconstruction efforts.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely delivery, and financial acumen across multiple projects. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, preparing bid proposals, soliciting bids, and maintaining data archives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial and/or residential construction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Bid Management, Planhub or similar).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine scope of work.
• Assist in preparing detailed project cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Assist in subcontractor prequalification processes.
• Develop and maintain qualified subcontractor bid invitation lists.
• Solicit, obtain, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Perform quantity take-offs and obtain material pricing.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Participate in pre-proposal meetings and prepare RFIs.
• Evaluate project plans and specifications for constructability.
• Help prepare, organize, and coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) documents.
• Maintain historical cost data and perform document archiving.
• Communicate regularly with management, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings -as required
