Job Description

Estimator Position Needed for a General Contractor

Catts Construction, Inc. is a general contractor engaged in constructing roads, sewers, water mains, and bridges in the Northeast Ohio area. We are seeking an individual for the position of estimator.

Responsibilities include:

• Estimating project costs for bidding
• Researching material, equipment, and labor costs
• Assessing project risks
• Analyzing data such as production rates and costs
• Calculating quantities from construction drawings
• Visiting job sites
• Collaborating with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel
• Attending bid lettings and meetings
• Performing accurate calculations
• Preparing correspondence

Additional tasks to assist project managers and field personnel:

• Material submittals
• Scheduling
• Subcontract agreements and purchase orders
• Change orders and RFIs
• Verifying invoices
• Field measurements and take-offs
• Communicating with subcontractors and suppliers
• Working with HCSS Heavy Bid & Heavy Job software
