Trophy Point, a division of YA, provides Pre-Construction consulting services with an emphasis on Construction Cost Estimating services. Through the estimates provided and Trophy Point's knowledge of construction, the organization works with its customers to aid in the alignment of scope and budget on a given project.

Summary:

The Senior General Construction Cost Estimator supports pre-construction efforts by working closely with Owners, State Agencies, Architects, Engineers, and Construction Managers to better understand needs, translating both vague and well-defined information and requirements into cost estimates that can be used for numerous purposes. The Senior General Construction Cost Estimator is responsible for providing accurate cost information to the stakeholders on a given project, in order to ensure that they can make effective decisions related to the alignment of scope and budget.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Documentation review and comprehension of construction documents, such as drawings and specifications.
2. Participates in customer kick-off meetings for new projects.
3. Responsible for generating questions for clients and quotes needed from suppliers.
4. Executes quantity take-offs for estimating from narratives, paper drawings, and software OST, Sage, BIM, and more.
5. Performs the necessary math to quantify, price, express, calculate, compare, compile, adjust, etc.
6. Assigns unit pricing based on appropriately adjusted historical data and quotes.
7. Maintains positive working relationships with contractors and suppliers.
8. Effectively communicates with and influences multiple stakeholders from different functions, across all levels of the organization.
9. Inputs and summarizes estimates using a standard format.
10. Delivers reports and follows up with customers in a timely manner.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
2. 7+ years’ relevant experience required.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
