Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking an aspiring estimator/technical support for construction engineering operations. The role focuses on interpreting drawings, supporting bids and schedules, and delivering essential documentation.

You will assist with change orders, quantity takeoffs, and material pricing to ensure accurate bids. Preferred candidates are pursuing a civil engineering or construction management degree, with strong MS Office skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute required documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material requirement calculations to supervisor.
• Provide technical support and direction regarding project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings to support estimating and construction work.
• Develop job essential data including quantity take-offs and material pricing for accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls.
