Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an entry-level estimator intern to assist construction engineering operations, interpret drawings, and support bid preparation. You will gain hands-on experience and mentorship while contributing to material take-offs, change orders, and cost-control processes.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Field of study Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design and drawings for takeoff and workforce for bids and construction.
• Prepare and distribute status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations for supervisor.
• Provide technical support regarding project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches to support estimating.
• Develop job data including quantity take-offs and material pricing for accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls.
