Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking enthusiastic interns and entry-level candidates to assist construction engineering operations and support bid preparation. You will interpret drawings, prepare documentation, and help ensure work meets engineering standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with strong MS Office skills and basic math for takeoffs. This on-site role offers hands-on experience and safety training as part of Granite’s team.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and take responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building projects.
• Prepare and distribute status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations.
• Provide technical support on materials meeting specifications and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates with drawings and sketches.
• Develop data for quantity take-offs and material pricing for bids.
• Maintain records of quantities and materials installed for cost control.
