Granite Construction is seeking an Engineer Intern to support construction engineering operations in Tucson/Tempe, AZ. The role involves interpreting drawings for takeoffs, preparing documents and cost estimates, and assisting with change orders to ensure bids meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor’s degree.
• Field of Study preferred: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute documents such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material requirement calculations.
• Provide technical support on project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches to support estimating and construction work.
• Develop job essential data including quantity take-offs and material pricing for accurate bids.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls.
