Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an intern/entry-level professional to assist construction engineering operations in ensuring work meets engineering standards. You will interpret designs for takeoffs, prepare documentation, and support materials planning and scheduling.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and learning across civil construction projects. A High School Diploma or GED plus progress toward a bachelor's degree is required.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and be working toward a bachelor’s degree.
• Field of Study: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret designs/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute required documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations.
• Provide technical support regarding project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches to support estimating and construction work.
• Develop essential data including quantity take-offs and material pricing for accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls.
