Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an intern to assist construction engineering operations and ensure compliance with engineering standards. You will interpret drawings for bidding, prepare documentation, and support material scheduling and cost controls on large projects.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and progress toward a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, with 0–2 years in estimating support or related roles.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor's degree.
• Field of Study preferred: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations to supervisor.
• Provide technical support and direction regarding project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches to support estimating and construction work.
• Develop quantity take-offs and material pricing for accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls.
