Job summary

Granite Construction is hiring interns and entry‑level professionals to support construction engineering operations and ensure projects comply with engineering standards across our sites.

You will interpret drawings for takeoffs and bids, prepare status reports and sketches, assist with change orders and estimates, and maintain cost records. A high school diploma or GED is required while you pursue a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor’s degree
• Experience: 0–2 years in estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic math/trigonometry

Responsibilities

• Interpret design drawings for takeoffs and bidding on construction projects
• Prepare and distribute documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations
• Provide technical support on materials meeting specs, delivery dates and schedules
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches
• Develop data including quantity take-offs and material pricing for estimates
• Maintain records of quantities and materials installed for cost controls
