Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc in Peoria, IL is seeking a Construction Engineer II to support our construction group on a range of projects from roadways and bridges to underground installations. This role offers direct collaboration with clients and the opportunity to contribute to project design while pursuing a Professional Engineer license.

Ideal candidates will hold a B.S. in Civil or Construction Engineering with 3+ years of consultant construction engineering experience, and be willing to travel

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil or Construction Engineering.
• 3+ years of proven progressive experience in consultant construction engineering.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed.
• Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.
• Maintain job site records of daily reports, job meeting minutes, approved drawings, and pay requests.
• Review pay requests and verify completed work.
• Assist with design of future projects during off season.
