Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Construction Engineer II for our Peoria, IL office. You will support the firm’s construction group on roadways, bridges, underground installations, and infrastructure projects, with opportunities to work directly with clients and assist with design. Licensure pursuit is encouraged.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Civil/Construction Engineering and 3+ years of progressive consulting construction experience. E.I.T.

Qualifications

3+ years of proven progressive experience in consultant construction engineering.
Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
Team-oriented culture that encourages development and achievement.

Responsibilities

Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed.
Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.
Maintain job site records of daily reports, meeting minutes, drawings, and pay requests.
Observe, measure and document construction activities and maintain a daily log.
Monitor progress schedule and shop drawing log.
Review pay requests and verify completed work.
