Job summary

The Civi Group is seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in heavy civil and marine construction for Connecticut-based projects. You will design, review, and validate structures, plan lifting operations, and oversee on-site support while ensuring safety and compliance with client specifications.

The role offers exposure to bridge and infrastructure projects, temporary works, and coordination with project teams. Travel to multiple project sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil or marine construction.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate technical drawings and calculations for temporary construction and demolition projects.
• Plan and design heavy lifting operations, including logistics and equipment setup.
• Oversee erection sequences and support systems for infrastructure projects.
• Assess structural integrity and stability of new and existing structures under construction loads.
• Coordinate project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications in all design deliverables.
• Provide on-site engineering support, including inspections and mentoring junior engineers.

Job description

The Civi Group has partnered with a leading family-owned company specializing in marine and heavy civil construction in Connecticut. They are looking to hire a Structural Engineer with expertise in heavy civil projects.

This Structural Engineer will be responsible for a range of design and construction tasks, including bridge and infrastructure projects, marine construction, and temporary structural design. Key duties involve overseeing critical lifts, deep foundation work, and various on-site engineering support activities.

Job Title: Structural Engineer

Compensation:

Salary: Up to approximately $140K based on experience

Benefits: Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, and Holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Skills & Qualification:

• Experienced in project scheduling, resource allocation, site supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting, tailored to the stringent demands of heavy civil and marine construction projects.
• Valid drivers license and capability to travel to various project sites as needed.
