Job summary

The Civi Group LLC is seeking a Structural Engineer to lead design and on-site support for heavy civil and marine projects in Connecticut. Responsibilities include validating drawings, planning lifts, and ensuring structural integrity under construction loads.

You will coordinate with project teams, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. Travel to multiple project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil or marine construction.
• Knowledge of heavy civil/marine construction standards and regulations.
• Experience in scheduling, budgeting, site supervision, safety, quality control.
• Ability to travel to multiple project sites with valid driver's license.

The Civi Group has partnered with a leading family-owned company specializing in marine and heavy civil construction in Connecticut. They are looking to hire a Structural Engineer with expertise in heavy civil projects.

This Structural Engineer will be responsible for a range of design and construction tasks, including bridge and infrastructure projects, marine construction, and temporary structural design. Key duties involve overseeing critical lifts, deep foundation work, and various on-site engineering support activities.

Job Title: Structural Engineer

Compensation:

Salary: Up to approximately $140K based on experience

Benefits: Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, and Holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and validate technical drawings and calculations for temporary construction and demolition projects.
• Plan and design heavy lifting operations, including logistics and equipment setup.
• Oversee erection sequences and support systems for infrastructure projects.
• Assess structural integrity and stability of new and existing structures under construction loads.
• Coordinate project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications in all design deliverables.
• Provide on-site engineering support, including inspections and mentoring junior engineers.

Skills & Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or any related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil or marine construction projects.
• Proficient understanding of construction processes, industry standards, and specific regulations relevant to heavy civil and marine environments.
• Experienced in project scheduling, resource allocation, site supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting, tailored to the stringent demands of heavy civil and marine construction projects.
• Valid drivers license and capability to travel to various project sites as needed.
